Bed & Breakfast

Often referred to as a B&B, is a lodging typically operated out of a large single family residence where guests can be accommodated at night in private bedrooms (which may be equipped with private baths) and where breakfast, often a full, "American-style breakfast" (eggs, meat, cold cuts, cheese) or "Continental breakfast" (coffee, juice, bread) is served in the morning.

Wilderness Lodge & Resort
|
Primarily a full service (self-contained) establishment mostly in scenic and/or remote locations offering a variety of guided/non-guided outdoor activities and tours. Facilities may include: restaurant, bar, hot tub/exercise room, equipment rental etc. Rooms and cabins are providing 'hotel-style' lodging with standard or upgraded amenities.

Hotel
|
This is the most popular (available) hotel category within Northern Canada’s Provinces. Besides the basic amenities some hotels may feature also Jacuzzis, Sauna, Complimentary Breakfast, Tour Desk. A typical Hotel for the traveler that doesn't want to pay for luxury, extra service, beautiful spacious lobbies or room service availability but still wants to have a fairly decent, clean and safe place to stay in the wilderness.

Cabins
|
Usually completely self contained and located in scenic and remote wilderness locations. Some are accessible by road, some others requiring a transfer by floatplane or boat (additional charge). Basic kitchen facilities include propane gas fridge and stove, cutlery, dishes etc. Cabins are heated by fireplace, wood stove or with propane. Fishing, wildlife observation and hiking opportunities are usually excellent.
