• Bugs
Mosquito populations vary with temperature, rainfall and wind. Tours within semi-alpine or well-drained areas provide usually a “ Mosquito Free “ environment. We recommend insect repellent and a head net or bug jacket. Arctic river expeditions during July/Aug definitely require bug shirts to ensure your peace of mind.

• Custom Tours
We are able to organize any trip to suit your specification and needs. Please contact us.

• Equipment List
Please refer to our equipment list within the River Trips section.

• Equipment Used
We mainly use 17 ft / 2 person canoes or inflatable rafts carrying up to 5 clients and 1 guide. Rowing will be do by the guide. Thus, we do have extra paddles for clinets who wish to paddle as well.

Some rivers provide Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, Lake Trouts, Arctic Grayling and Northern Pikes. Thus, average size is small and a fishing licence is required.

• River Days
Paddling time may vary between 2-7 hours with a take off time around 10:00 am
This provides time for a variety of stops, shorter hikes, photograhy or exploration around the camp. Extended trips usually have a few layover days for hiking.

• Skiis
Rafting trips are designed for people with any skill level from novice to experts. Canoe trips are more specific but a guide will teach you the strokes and basics.

• Trip Joining Information
Many customers are single travelers. We will pair up these clients for tenting or lodging purposes. If you prefer your own tent – no problem, this service is available at no extra charge. Thus, single supplement charges are applicable for hotel rooms. The majority of clients are from North America and Europe and are between 25-70 years old.
